Credit Counselor Profiles

Albert R. Sonntag is an experienced litigator with more than twenty years of practice in various areas of civil litigation, including personal injury, business contract litigation, construction defect and products liability litigation. He has represented the interests of both Plaintiffs and Defendants in the Southern California area since his admission to the State Bar of California in November 1988.

After graduating from high school at St. George’s College in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1962, Mr. Sonntag attended the University of Buenos Aires, School of Law, in the early 1960’s. Thereafter, he received his B.A. in History (cum laude) in 1968 from the University of California in Los Angeles. He received his Master’s degree in History from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970, and a Ph.D. in History and Philosophy from the University of California in Los Angeles in 1977. He graduated in June 1988 from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles. He was a professor of History in Los Angeles and a researcher for the Department of Justice in Antitrust and Environmental Law matters before commencing his civil practice in 1989. Mr. Sonntag was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1945.

Mr. Sonntag has broad expertise in civil law and practice, having tried sixteen cases to verdict before juries throughout the Southern California area. His practice included negotiation of claims and arbitration of insurance coverage disputes, serious injury and wrongful death claims, breach of contract disputes, Lemon Law claims, construction defects and other product liability claims, and general business litigation.
